There are no words to describe the terrible events that took place in Paris last night. Around 10 pm I got a message on Facebook saying: "Are you okay? What's going on in Paris?" I had not checked the news so I went on BBC's website where I was informed that two masked and armed men had shot 18 people and hurt a dussin more outside a restaurant. Shocked, I continued following the news as there were several more shootings and bomb attacks reported and the number of casualties quickly became larger and larger. Right there and then I could not really comprehend what was happening so I went to bed. The first thing I did this morning was to check the news. 120 people dead. It is hard to understand, there are no words. I am despite everything safe and sound. The day has been very long and tough, it has been hard to explain to the kids what has happened, I am not allowed to leave the house. I am wondering how the following days will look like, will I be able to go out? There are so many thoughts spinning around in my head, but most of all I am thinking about the people who endlessly lost their lives because of terrorists so blinded by hatred that they kill innocent people like flies; and the worst part is that this happens all the time around the world. There are no words.
